Writing Contests

Open to any student at LSSU.
Submit up to three poems. Each poem must have a title. All entries must be submitted in triplicate (3 copies) and bear only the author’s student number and address on the top left-hand corner of the first page. Poems must be typed (printed), paginated, and single sided.
No restrictions on subject or style.
Each entry must be submitted on white, 8-1/2 X 11 paper in an envelope bearing the author’s name, student number, address, and the title(s) of the work enclosed.
Deliver entries to College of Arts, Letters, and Social Sciences secretary in Library 304 by 2pm on Friday, March 24, 2006.Prizes :
- 1st - $50.00
- 2nd - $30.00
- 3rd - $20.00
- Honorable Mention (2) - $10.00
The judges reserve the right not to award any prizes.
Winning entries will be announced by Monday, April 3, 2006. There will be a reception honoring the winners, all contest participants, their guests, and any friends of literature. Time and place of the reception will be noted in the announcement of the winning entries.
