About Daniel Sefton...

I chose to come north to LSSU as a freshman in 2006.  I graduated from LSSU in 2011 with my bachelor’s degree and many great experiences.  I was born and raised in the Thumb, but moved to Mackinaw City in 2002.  The beauty and serenity of Northern Michigan gave me an appreciation of what this area has to offer.

My experience as a student at LSSU gave me the tools to succeed in my professional career.  The professors knew me on a first name basis and truly connect with their students during and after graduation.  I participated in the VITA program, professional clubs, and intramural sports.

I try to be involved with my community as much as I can.  I am part of the Sault Young Professionals Organization and volunteer at many events.  I am also a huge sports enthusiast.  I love my Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons.  When I am not watching sports, I’m participating in community sports leagues such as bowling, slow pitch softball, and hockey.

I am pleased you are considering Lake Superior State University and will be glad help assist you in the transition to becoming a Laker.   Please contact me with any questions you may have.

"LSSU is a relatively small school and I believe for this reason I have received a better education. The close atmosphere as opposed to a larger university has provided me with an opportunity to become acquainted with my professors. The professors therefore have an opportunity to assist with problems fairly easily, especially in upper level classes. The classes are fairly small also which provides one on one conversations which is very helpful."
