"Employers continue to seek graduates with a well-rounded education, a positive attitude, and who have demonstrated their ability for further learning as employers attempt to meet the challenge of their ever-changing markets. Given the good, extended economic forecast and increased need for ongoing technological innovations, the college-educated work force will continue to grow."
--Theresa Weaver, Director
Center for Career Services
Some significant trends and factors of graduate placement are:
Michigan ’s continued healthy manufacturing climate is still providing many good employment opportunities, causing fewer graduates to leave the state. In recent years, because of the NAFTA agreement, our Canadian graduates often found employment in the United States .
The continued high demand for nurses in our country has driven up entry level nursing salaries, similar to the national trend.
