Governor Jennifer M. Granholm proclaims the month of November “Return to Learn” month in Michigan. In her weekly radio address, which aired on radio stations across the state November 4th, the Governor said college and university campuses are opening their doors, inviting Michigan citizens to return to the classroom and finish their higher education degrees.

“A college degree can be the ticket to a bigger paycheck for our citizens and a stronger economy for our state,” said Granholm. “To attract the kind of businesses we need to grow Michigan’s economy, Michigan needs to lead the nation in the number of college-graduates we have in our state.”

A Degree is Key!

With November being declared Return to Learn month, LSSU is standing alongside Governor Jennifer Granholm, and many other degree granting institutions, in encouraging citizens of this state to return the hallowed halls of higher education and earn a degree. This being said, there may never be a better time to return to school for a degree, or attend school for the first time, and Lake Superior State University is at the forefront of that need. Degrees given into the hands of recipients not only give them the tools and knowledge they will need to be a greater success in the world, but also a solid foundation upon which to build a better future.

The states with the highest income growth, the higher employment rates, and the strongest economies are the states with the better educated workforce. Michigan has fallen behind these states in the percentage of the population that retain a bachelors degree or higher, and the men and women who hold degrees are at a greater advantage when it comes time to enter or re-enter the workforce.

The University and You!

Lake Superior State University offers students small class sizes, hands-on learning and collaborative faculty. Because of this, our students succeed; an attribute our students, new and returning, find reassuring.
