Jacey Cook

"I am currently enrolled in graduate school, doing both therapy and diagnostic testing with a multitude of age ranges. In therapy, I work with children, adolescents, adults and also provide marriage counseling, parent guidance and family therapy. Diagnostic testing gives me an opportunity to work with a wide range of referral questions such as learning difficulties, attention difficulties, gastric bypass evaluations, intellectual and personality measures. Lake Superior State University gave me a strong background in statistics and other courses that provided me with the skills to success and prepared me for graduate school."

With the help of small town values and our highly trained Public Safety Department, students and parents will find Lake State offers an unmatched level of campus safety. And to help ensure we maintain this level of safety, our Public Safety Department works closely with the Student Life Office, and as such, are involved with Student and Residential Life personnel in providing awareness and prevention programs in areas of sexual assault, domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and personal safety.

We have four full-time safety officers on duty. This staff provides 24/7 coverage of our tightly knit campus community. The staff is assisted by students from our Criminal Justice program. This Auxiliary Officer Corps, along with our Public Safety Staff Officers, respond to requests for service such as campus escorts during evening hours, day and night time campus patrols, enforcement of parking regulations, responding to requests for medical assistance and event security.

Public Safety's goal is to contribute toward the quality of university life by fostering a safe and secure environment. This department endeavors to help create an atmosphere where diverse, social, cultural, and academic values develop and prosper.
