Register for LSSU Text Alerts
LSSU uses a communications service – Nixle – that allows the university to send important public safety messages to students, employees, family members, as a text message, through their cell phones.
This service will only be used to send important messages regarding health and public safety, including messages that inform students about campus closings due to weather. General university announcements such as those regarding special events, fee statements, scheduling and other regular university business will be broadcast and posted on My.LSSU.
The Nixle service is available free of charge (standard text messaging rates apply) and anyone may sign up for it, so parents and community members may be interested, too. All you need to do is sign up with the service to receive messages, and your cell phone must have text messaging capabilities. You may sign off the service at any time.

The Nixle Community Information Service allows LSSU to create and publish messages that will be delivered in a timely manner. Messages may also be accessed online through Nixle's website.
