Ana Ozores is the legendary "Regenta," a woman whose life is tormented by a
loveless marriage and the oppression of small town prejudices. Two men try
to seduce the young wife. One of them is her spiritual confessor, the other,
a heartless don Juan. Both men involve her is a whirlwind of passion and
vengence which is what will bring "La Regenta" to her final demise.
