EGYPT: CRADLE TO CIVILIZATION
Examines the first great civilization which grew up along the banks of the
Nile in Egypt five thousand years ago. Traces the evolution of Egyptian
culture from a tribal existence to an organized society under a single
powerful ruler. Illustrates Egyptian achievements in art, architecture,
medicine, astronomy, and mathematics, and shows how they contributed to the
development of Western civilization.

"The opportunity at LSSU to do research is amazing. This past summer I motored through coves and islands with Prof. Garvon surveying water birds for the affects of pollution. I spent the other part of my summer on the shore of Lake Superior monitoring nests of the endangered Piping Plover."
