came into its own at the 1952 conventions; how in the years since
it has changed "what we knew & when we knew it--& altered the
rules of politics. Shows one essential rule for candidates in
the recent Presidential primaries was: attract media attention.
Also examines the contest among network-news departments for
"prestige~ profits & ratings".
