Based on a short story by the Pulitzer-Prize winning author John Steinbeck,
The Leader of the People is set on a western ranch in the 1930s and deals
with an old man's memories of the pioneering spirit and his move west 50
years earlier. In telling his story, the old man realizes that only his
grandson Jody is interested in hearing about those times and that he alone
is left to mourn the passing of an era.
