Meet Meaghan Parker

Graduation date: May 2012

Major: Marketing

Current Place of employment: Jack Links Beef Jerky, Minneapolis, MN Retail Account Manager

How did Lake Superior State University help you succeed: Lake State gave me the confidence to succeed! I found this job through LSSU SIFE in Chicago, and what I learned was to never stop trying. I actually called the Jack Link's office 6 times before they gave me an interview.

Your advice to new students: Be persistent, but respectful. Go after what you want and be patient. The food industry is not where I want to end up, I will gradually be back in the fashion world, but I have to succeed here first.

For more of Meaghan's story, read about her internship with Glamour magazine.

About your employer: I work for an awesome company that is still privately owned. So working here, its like working for family. Everyone knows everyone.

Noel Granger

"My goal is to find a school that suits my interests and has a student-teacher ratio that allows the teacher to know my name and have time for my questions. I would like to be able to sit in the front of the class and enjoy the knowledge around me."

After completing my first semester at LSSU, I feel like I have accomplished my goal of finding a small school that really cares about the education of their students. [ more ]
