Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
February 16th, 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM
Description: For the 11th year in a row, members of Tau Kappa Epsilon International fraternity at LSSU are convincing fellow students and members of the community to jump into the icy St. Mary's River for charity. The event, part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, benefits Special Olympics Michigan. Registration begins Saturday at 9 a.m. at The Antlers restaurant at 804 E Portage Ave. followed by the parade of costumes. Participants will start jumping into the river at 10 a.m. at Rotary Park. The post-plunge party and awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at The Antlers. Last year, more than 100 people jumped into freezing water, raising more than $9,000. Spectators are welcome. TKE's Polar Plunge is one of 27 events planned throughout Michigan from January through March.
