Laker Fridays are an opportunity for LSSU alumni, students, employees, friends and area businesses to show their support of Lake Superior State University by donning LSSU colors and apparel. Whether it's a blue suit coat, a gold sweater, a Laker hoodie or a pair of Laker anchor earrings, put it on come Friday, because every Friday is Laker Friday.
Four brave professors - Jody Susi, Jodi Hunter, Tom Allan and Kevin Egan -- will be participating in the first Faculty PIGGY Dip (a.k.a Polar Bear Plunge)to help raise money for the Lake State PIGGY U! fundraising campaign. All money raised will support the re-construction of a 40-ft rock climbing wall in the Student Athletic Center.
The Seamore Shuttle is a free service provided by the LSSU Campus Life Office that takes LSSU students downtown and to places on the business spur such as Family Video, Big Lots and other stores in the Sault Plaza, as well as Varsity Cinemas. Pick-up and drop-off is at the Walker Cisler Center. Shuttle runs from 6-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1-10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The University of Michigan Wolverines visit Taffy Abel Arena this weekend and we hope to make this series a memorable one. The Lakers invite you to be a part of the "Back to the Attack" Weekend and help us generate awareness of an important fund-raising initiative in support of Laker hockey. Throughout the weekend, we will promote and seek support for the Back to the Attack Laker Hockey Challenge Fund. Through a partnership with a generous donor, any amount donated to the Laker Hockey Challenge Fund between Dec. 1, 2011, and Sept. 30, 2013, will be matched dollar for dollar up to $250,000.

Laker Cinema presents "Here Comes the Boom," starring Kevin James. A high school biology teacher looks to become a successful mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise money to prevent extra-curricular activities from being axed at his cash-strapped school. Friday and Saturday at 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. All shows in the Peacock Cove.
