Deadline to sign-up for Worksite Wellness Program Zumba Fitness Class
8:00 AM until 8:00 PM
LSSU's Worksite Wellness Program is offering a Zumba fitness class that will begin right after spring break and today is the deadline to sign-up. Plans call for the class to meet at 5:15 or 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning March 12 and ending April 16, in room 213 of the Norris Center. Participants will decide on the start time at the first class.
Zumba is a fitness program that involves dance and aerobic elements, along with squats, lunges and martial arts influences. It started in Columbia in the 1990s and has become very popular in the U.S.
LSSU's Worksite Wellness Program has purchased Zumba DVDs that will be shown on a large screen during the class while an instructor helps participants master the movements and stay motivated. The DVDs range from the very beginning steps to more advanced and quick-paced, so no matter what level you may be at, everyone can jump in and experience Zumba fitness.
People of all fitness levels are welcome. The class will evolve each week depending upon the participants' abilities and desires. Cost is free for WWP members and $20 for non-members.
The class is limited to the first 10 people who register with Prof. Jody Susi, WWP coordinator. A second class may be added if there is enough interest.
