Lakers invade NLA

Description: Join LSSU at Alpena's Northern Lights Arena for a full day of games, clinics, skating and information about LSSU and Alpena Community College academic programs. The Laker hockey team will play an inter-squad game in the afternoon. The tentative schedule includes youth and high school hockey coaches clinics in the morning, a student career expo at noon, skating with the Lakers in the afternoon and a spaghetti dinner at the end of the day. Games, practices and clinics are free; the spaghetti dinner is $5/person. Tickets are available at the NLA offices. Get details at

Saturday Afternoon Football Specials

Seamore Shuttle

Organization: Campus Life Office

Description: The Seamore Shuttle is a free service provided by the LSSU Campus Life Office that takes LSSU students downtown and to places on the business spur, including Varsity Cinemas. Pick-up and drop-off is at the Walker Cisler Center. Shuttle runs from 6-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.

Fisheries and Wildlife Club Whitefish Dinner and Silent Auction

Description: The Fisheries and Wildlife Club is holding its annual Whitefish Dinner and Silent Auction fundraiser this Saturday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m., in the Superior room of LSSU's Cisler Center. The meal includes fresh lake superior whitefish, sides, and a dessert. Tickets are $15 dollars per person ($7.50 for ages 5-12) and can be purchased from members of the Fisheries and Wildlife Club or by contacting Megan Highlen ( or Dr. Moerke ( They are also available at the door. Proceeds will support student training opportunities, aid in student travel expenses to professional conferences, and benefit Fisheries and Wildlife Club community outreach projects.
