Interview Questions That May Be Asked of the Candidate

The following are some basic questions that can be asked during an interview. There may be duplicates or questions with different wording that ask the same thing.

1. Where have you worked before?
2. What duties have you performed on past jobs?
3. What are your short and long-range career goals?
4. Why are you interested in this organization?
5. Tell me about yourself.
6. What education have you completed?(If a certain level is required for the job.)
7. How did you learn about this job?
8. Do you have any persons prepared to write or give references for you?
9. What is your social security number?
10. What is your address and phone number?
11. What special qualifications do you have for this job?
12. May I answer any questions about the job or organization?
13. What are your greatest strengths and greatest weaknesses?
14. Why does this job interest you?
15. Why did you select this particular career?
16. Are you willing to travel, to relocate?
17. What job skills do you have?(When specific skills are needed?)
18. Do you have a license for the field?(if required)
19. Why should I hire you?
20. What are your plans for the future?
21. Why are you looking for this type of position?
