Working in partnership with parents and community, the Ridge Park Charter Academy mission is to become one of the finest k-8 schools in the country. We offer a challenging, character-based education through a rigorous curriculum with high academic and social expectations. Our school prioritizes the academic program and instructional time so each student reads, computes and writes at or above grade level. We expect our students to master basic skills and realize their academic full potential in preparation for higher education and adulthood.

LSSU's dedicated three-story fire lab made all the difference to Brian Applegate.

"Our certification training classes offered real situations," Brian says. Students practice victim search techniques while controlling and extinguishing fires. Applegate says his favorite exercise was the live fire flashover simulation. "We saw how fires evolved as they burned," he says. "It’s as close as you can get to the real thing."
