Alum Success

Don Sawruk

Don Sawruk '70

"My two business degrees from LSSU were instrumental in preparing me to work at all levels of Edison Sault Electric (ESE), concluding with the privilege of becoming ESE President in 1998. My company also takes pride in that 14 out of a total of 17 management personnel and about 20% of hourly employees at ESE either have degrees from or have attended a substantial number of classes at LSSU. Finally, our company and employees have contributed in excess of $500,000 to various LSSU projects over the last 25 years. ESE Believes in Blue."

News

As Tipton Academy wraps up its first school year, we have a lot to celebrate.

We celebrate Families – Tipton Academy celebrates our school families throughout the year. At the end of each trimester our Enrichment Night allows our students to showcase their talents for all to see. Our Family Movie Nights bring together parents and siblings of all ages for a night of fun and a good movie. And to celebrate our moms and dads, students honored their moms at our Mother's Day Tea and recently celebrated their fathers at our Dads and Donuts event.

We celebrate Academics – Tipton students have made significant academic gains this year. Staff has worked hard throughout the year to meet the needs of each student and give them many different opportunities to bring that knowledge to life.

We celebrate Students – Tipton Academy celebrates our student's success in many different ways each and every day. Some students participate as a reading buddy, while others help out in the preschool rooms during lunch. Our school safeties attended a Tiger baseball game while our 3rd and 5th grade spelling bee champions attended the State Spelling Bee. Some have even earned a golden ticket because they were caught doing something good. Twenty-five of our 4th-5th grade students are excited to be attending Science Camp at LSSU this summer and, thanks to Mr. John Romine who provided their scholarships; five students will be attending the Fine Arts Camp.

Tipton Academy has a lot to celebrate and are looking forward to next year!
