for 2012 Graduation

Welcome Parents, Visitors and Class of 2012!

Students planning to graduate as of fall 2011, spring 2012 or summer 2012, are eligible to participate in the 2012 Commencement Ceremony. We will be updating this site on a regular basis. Feel free to use the menu located at the left side of this page, to explore other areas related to commencement.

This year's ceremony will take place on April 28 at 11 a.m. in the Taffy Abel Arena in the Norris Center. Graduates are asked to arrive in the Cooper Gym between 10-10: 30 a.m. The ceremony lasts approximately 2 hours. Please note that seats cannot be reserved.

A list of graduate candidates will be available for viewing soon.

Are you ready for graduation?

Your Graduation Application should already be submitted to Registrar's Office located in the Fletcher Center. If you do not see your name on the list of graduate candidates please contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@lssu.edu or (906)635-2682.

If you have not submitted your Graduation Application and plan to graduate spring semester, please visit the Registrar's Office Graduation webpage at www.lssu.edu/registrar/graduation for steps that must be completed as soon as possible. If you want to verify that your degree audit has been submitted along with your Graduation Application check with your Academic Advisor.

Are you receiving more than one degree? You will find your name listed for each degree on the graduation list. Please let the Registrar's Office know with which degree you would prefer to march. You will be given one diploma cover at commencement. To help streamline your information, please complete the Receiving More Than One Degree form (form will be available soon) and submit it to the Registrar's Office by March 25. If you need more than one, please stop by the Registrars' office for additional covers.

Honors: Please note that the GPA you received from the FALL 2011 semester is used to determine your honors status (e.g. cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude). However, after final grades have been submitted and finalized, if your GPA changes, the resulting honors status will appear on your diploma.

If you will NOT be attending commencement, please complete and submit the Request Not to Attend Commencement Exercises form to the Registrar's office.

Commencement Dates & Times

Practice will be begin at Noon on Friday, April 27, in the Bud Cooper Gym. Instructions for Procedure, Line-up & Procession are included in the links located on the menu at the left side of this page. Note: the honor (e.g. cum laude) designation is determined by your GPA at the end of the Fall 2011 semester.

Commencement exercises are on Saturday, April 28. Please arrive between 10-10:30 a.m. in the Bud Cooper Gym.
