Q: Am I on the list to graduate?
A: If you have received a Preliminary Verification of Degree Audit Sheet from Stella DePlonty, you are on the list to graduate. Please verify your degree(s) and the spelling of your name.
Q: Will I be listed in the program?
A: If you are on the list to graduate, you will be in the program. Otherwise, the deadline to submit forms to ensure you will be listed is March 20.
Q: How many guests may I bring?
A: There is no limit on the number of guests you can invite to the commencement exercises. Special handicap and elderly seating will be available.
Q: Where do I get my cap and gown?
A: Graduation attire may be purchased starting March 20th, at Barnes & Noble at Lake Superior State University (906-635-2227) or during the Grad Fair. Please note that we are no longer using black or grey caps and gowns. Bachelor attire is royal blue, and associate attire is gold.
NOTE: If your cumulative GPA is 3.50 or higher and you have earned at least 32 credits from LSSU, you are eligible to purchase a set of Laker Honors or Nursing Honors cords at Barnes & Noble at Lake Superior State University. Special cords for Honors Program, Alpha Chi are available by contacting Honors Program.
Q: When is practice?
A: We ask that you plan to attend the Commencement practice at Noon on Friday, May 1 in the Cooper Gym. It lasts about 1 1/2 hours.
Q: When do I need to show up for Commencement?
A: Please arrive between 10-10:30 a.m. Commencement begins promptly at 11 a.m.
Q: Is a professional photographer available?
A: An individual picture of you receiving your diploma will be taken by a professional photographer and may be purchased from them directly, if desired. Personal photography will also be allowed during the ceremony.
Commencement photographer, Graduation Images, is offering graduates a chance to pre-register their email and friends & family email addresses. Graduation Images will send out an email notification letting everyone know when their photos are available for online viewing and ordering. Pre-register here
