Welcome
The staff of Counseling Services would like to extend a warm welcome to those visiting our site. Please feel encouraged to contact us! We welcome all questions and concerns and appreciate it when you share your thoughts and feedback.
The mission of The Counseling Services is to promote students' personal growth and development and to assist students in coping with personal difficulties so they can benefit and succeed from their university experience
A Resource for Students
We provide a variety of brief time-limited services to fully admitted and currently enrolled students. All services are free of charge, confidential, and not part of a student's academic record. Services include: short-term psychotherapy; group therapy; outreach/education; resources and referrals; and consultation. Services are available during the academic calendar year which includes the summer semester. Services are limited when school is not in session.
Our individual services are designed to be short-term (average 6 sessions). Often a few individual meetings, and sometimes even one consultative session, can help you better identify, understand, and resolve the barriers that may be interfering with your sense of personal well being and/or academic success. If, during the initial appointment or during the course of short-term psychotherapy, it is determined that a student requires more therapeutic support than can be offered in our short-term model, the Counseling Services therapist will provide referrals and guide that student through the process of getting connected with a community support.
Please do not e-mail us with personal information. E-mail is not a secure form of communication. Contact us by calling or stopping in.
