Success Strategies (for tape-delay classes)
Logistics: This class will be taped from a "live" course being offered at another location. Copies of the tape will be made into DVDs and mailed to your home, once a week on Friday. The DVD will usually take 2 -3 days to arrive to your home once mailed.
To be successful - we recommend the following :
- Review the class DVD(s) as soon as they arrive. This is especially important in case there is a problem with the quality of the DVD. If that happens, please email the Distance Education office at lkelly@lssu.edu or call 1-906-635-2802 as soon as possible to arrange for a DVD replacement.
- Access to e-mail is required. E-mail has proven to be the most effective form of communication between your professor and fellow students. As a LSSU student, you have access to Web For Students and email account. All course correspondence is done by using your LSSU email. To obtain you’re My LSSU account information go to www.lssu.edu/studentutils and follow the directions.
- Access your e-mail daily or as needed to keep in touch. Your instructor will use e-mail as a means to update students with important announcements regarding the course.
- Complete the homework assignments by the due date. You will have adequate time to complete the assignments.
- Ask questions (via e-mail or phone) as they arise. Contact your instructor when you have questions regarding the course materials. Don't wait until just before a test or due date for an assignment.
