CS 101 MIDTERM EXAM This exam is an open book and open note exam. You can use any reference item that you brought to this test site. You cannot use help or give help to any other person. In addition, you cannot use the printer for this exam. Note that the instructor will not answer any questions or give you help or advice. The only exception will be if you are experiencing hardware problems--please let me know and I will move you to another machine. Part 1 Creating a Folder on a Diskette (10 points). Perform the following tasks: 1. Delete all files on your test floppy disk. 2. Delete all subdirectories on your test floppy. 3. Create the subdirectory PART1 on the floppy. 4. Create the subdirectory PART2 on the floppy such that PART2 is not a folder in PART1. 4. Place your solution to Part 2 below in both the subdirectories (PART1 and PART2). Part 2 Creating a Document (75 points) Copy the attached NA119 Syllabus into WORD. Note that you must use WORD and no other wordprocessor. You are to format the Syllabus as follows: 1. Create a cover sheet with your name on one line and the words MIDTERM EXAM on another line. Center each in the line and in the middle of the cover page. 2. The cover page is to have no headers or footers. 3. Single space the document as indicated on the attached syllabus. 4. Create a footer containing the phrase "MIDTERM EXAM" at the far left and the page number centered. 5. Create a header containing your name at the far right and the current date centered. 6. Place page number at bottom center of each page (except for the header page). The first page of the syllabus must begin with the number one (1). 7. Use left, right, top, and bottom margins of 1". 8. Bold and underline each subtopics (Prerequisite, Textbook, Instructor, etc.)--see attached syllabus. 9. Number (and align) each subtopic under "Course Objectives" and "Other." 10. Align all items under "Grade determination" as indicated on the attached syllabus. 11. Italicize the name of the textbook as indicated. 12. Left-justify each paragraph--as per attached sheet. 13. Increase to 14 pt font, underline, and bold the title NS 119-01... 14. Create footnotes 1, 2, and 3 as indicated. 15. Using options in Word, place the footnotes at the end of the document. Part 3 Saving Your Work.(15 points) Save the above formatted document as MIDTERM in the folder PART1 and in the folder PART2.
