Here you can find answers to the most common questions students have about my
classes. I try to update these FAQs at the beginning of each semester, but
I sometimes miss a question, so don't hesitate to
email me if you don't find your question
listed here. (And if I add it to the FAQ, I'll be sure to credit you!)
By the way, the answers to these questions are only applicable to courses
that I teach. Unless specifically noted, these do not represent official
University; College of Arts, Letters, and Social Sciences; or School of English
and Speech policies.
FAQ about General Information
- If you have a question about something that could apply to any class I
teach (such as my office hours, conference attendance, or how to get hold of
me outside of class), look here first.
FAQ about Writing
- For questions about writing, or Writing Courses (EN 110, EN 210, EN 215,
EN 220, or EN 221) this is your best bet.
FAQ about Plagiarism
- The most frequently accessed FAQ, this provides a copy of the University
policy on Cheating and Plagiarism, discusses the standards of Academic
Honesty, outlines my interpretation of these standards, provides tips on how
to avoid plagiarism, and has some suggestions for further reading.
