Scholarships for Michigan Freshman

Students must be U.S. citizens, Michigan residents and current graduates of a Michigan high school.

Scholarship criteria is reviewed each year and is subject to change.

Scholarships described here are awarded for 2006-07.

Scholarship	Value	Criteria
Board of Trustees Distinguished Scholarship	$4000 per year tuition $2000 per year room & board	Renewable up to four years. Award based on ACT and GPA scores (ACT 27 and GPA 3.8 minimum).
Michigan Valedictorian Scholarship	$1200 per year	Renewable up to four years. Must be the valedictorian of a Michigan high school and graduate first in class. May combine with other LSSU scholarships.
Board of Trustees Excellence Scholarship	$2000 per year tuition $2000 per year room & board	Renewable up to four years. Award based on ACT and GPA (ACT 25 and GPA 3.7 minimum).
Board of Trustees Academic Honors Scholarship	$1000 per year tuition plus $1000 per year room & board	Renewable up to four years. Award based on ACT and GPA (ACT 24 and GPA 3.5 minimum).
Board of Trustees Academic Achievement Scholarship	$1000 per year tuition plus $500 per year room & board	Renewable up to four years. Award based on ACT and GPA (ACT 19 and GPA 3.0 minimum).

"I've been accepted to Montana Tech's graduate school to pursue a master's degree in geophysical engineering. I have also accepted a full-funded graduate research assistantship to work with the Montana National Guard on developing magnetic techniques to detect unexploded ordinance. My summer internship with Geolex, a company under contract with the Guard, will study acquiring data, performing analysis, and offering interpretation on unexploded ordinance." [ more ]
