LSSU Outstanding Alumnus Award '91
Financial Aid Office
TIPS for finalizing your financial aid:
Return your signed “Official Offer of Award” letter to the Financial Aid Office or accept your aid on-line using your Anchor Access Account. If you are accepting additional loan from your Modified Loan Offer, the original form must be signed and returned.
NEW LOAN LIMITS ARE IN EFFECT FOR 2008-09!
Please review your student account carefully. Your financial aid will not disburse until all of the requirements are completed and processed for each type of aid you have accepted. You can view your outstanding requirements using the “Eligibility” tab under Financial Aid on your Anchor Access Account.
If you have accepted new student employment, make sure you know where you will be assigned and that you attend the student initiation meeting. Work study earnings are paid by paycheck and not available for direct payment on your account.
If this is your first student loan, you must complete a mandatory Entrance Interview before your loan funds can be disbursed to your student account. This is a federal regulation! You can complete the self-certification on-line at www.dlssonline.com. Your results will automatically be sent to LSSU.
If this is your first Federal Direct Student Loan or Parent Plus loan, you must sign your electronic “Master Promissory Note” online at https://dlenote.ed.gov and complete the ten easy steps. Your federal PIN is required. If you do not know your PIN, you can request a duplicate PINfrom this site. For Parent PLUS loans, a separate PINfor the parent borrower is required.
NOTE: Beginning July 1, 2008, Parent PLUS loans may be deferred while thestudent is enrolled for at least six credits, followed by a six month grace period.
Once all required steps are completed, loan funds are credited to your student account on the scheduled disbursement dates (typically, loans are divided equally [one half for fall semester; one half for spring semester] less fees). Ifyour aid exceeds your campus charges (semester tuition, special course fees, and room and board charges), your excess aid proceeds will be distributed beginning August 29th for up to $500. Additional excess aid remaining balances will be available beginning September 16, 2008 at the Student Service Center or by direct deposit.
If you are using an alternative loan for payment of student charges, funds will not be credited until received by the lender. Please complete your loan with the lender of your choice within the maximum amount shown on your award letter. Suggested alternative loan websites are listed on our website at www.lssu.edu/finaid/alternativeloans.
