SWINGIN' IN THE RAIN- Showers didn't deter three generations of the Cooper family from joining 100 players for the 2005 Bud Cooper Golf Classic. Coopers pictured from left are Craig Cooper, Dave Cooper, Jim Cooper, Bud Cooper, Kevin Cooper and Rick Cooper.

About Bud Cooper

Ronald "Bud" Cooper spent more than 30 years of his life as an athlete, coach and athletic director at Lake Superior State University. In that time, he demonstrated a tremendous loyalty to his teammates, staff and the University. His tenacity matched his loyalty as an athlete, and he performed well in competition and in the classroom.

Bud Cooper was a superb athlete for the Sault Branch and an exceptional coach and longtime athletic director. Bud is one of two men instrumental in establishing the LSSU hockey program and Athletic Hall of Fame. His passion and support of the University as an athlete, coach, athletic director, alumnus and faculty emeritus are unsurpassed. In 2000, the Norris Center gymnasium was named the Ronald "Bud" Cooper Gymnasium to honor Bud for his tremendous support to Laker Athletics and LSSU.
