Ways of Giving to LSSU

“Funding the Future” is the way donors insure the future of Lake Superior State University through giving generously.

People, companies, organizations, and foundations support Lake Superior State University in a variety of ways through the LSSU Foundation. Each method of giving not only helps to further the mission of LSSU, but also gives the donor a spectrum of tools to use to make their donations. Note: there are Special Benefits for Giving in Michigan.

Currently, the Foundation receives gifts for the University in the following ways:

Immediate Giving

• Securities: Stocks, Bonds and other negotiable securities
• Real Estate
• Payroll Deduction
• Personal Property or “Gifts in Kind”
• Sponsorships for events and programs
• Memorial Gifts

• Written Pledges to Give
• Beneficiary Designations
• Life Insurance
• Bequests in Wills & Living Trusts
• Additionally, any way listed in “Immediate Giving” can be used in a deferred gift

• Charitable Gift Funds
• Charitable Gift Annuity
• Charitable Lead Trust
• Charitable Remainder Trust
• In some cases, any of the Immediate and Deferred Giving ways can also be used in Charitable Planned Giving
