Alum Success

"The small student to faculty ratio was a real benefit in my preparation towards my teaching career. It enabled me to get to know my professors well and come to them for help with anything I needed."

Ways of giving

A one-time gift is the easiest and most direct way of giving toward this endowment. Because the LSSU Foundation is a tax exempt, non-profit organization, your gifts to LSSU through the Foundation are deductible to the full extent of the United States and Canadian laws and Internal Revenue Service (US) and Revenue Canada (Canada) regulations

Giving options:

  • Currency (US or Canadian)
  • Personal Check (made payable to LSSU Foundation)
  • Money Order
  • Bank Draft
  • Credit Card (Give Now!)
  • Electronic Funds Transfer (Contact the LSSU Foundation Office at 906-635-2665 to set up this option for your gift.)

A multi-year pledge allows you to give a little at a time that builds up into a large gift. Set up a payment schedule that meets your needs. A three-to-five-year pledge to the Endowment will be gratefully received.

Making the LSSU Foundation your life insurance beneficiary is a creative way of giving. Simply name the Foundation as the primary, secondary or residual beneficiary of your policy and designate all or a percentage of the benefit to the endowment.

If you make an irrevocable transfer of a life insurance policy to the LSSU Foundation and name the University's foundation as owner-beneficiary, the policy's value is a charitable contribution in the year of transfer. With this gift, there are also positive implications regarding estate tax. Please consult your financial and legal professionals about the tax implications of any giving.
