Students Without Insurance
LSSU has created a student health fund for all students who maintain three or more credit hours. This student health fund covers services for our un-insured students as well as co-pays, deductibles and non-covered services of an insurance company. The student health fund has been created so students do not have an out-of-pocket expense. Well physicals are excluded from this fund, but are offered at a reduced rate to the student. To utilize the student health fund services must be rendered at the Health Care Center.
All students are encouraged to carry health insurance. Plan options include Healthy Michigan Plan, MIChild, Medicaid and the Health Insurance Marketplace If you live in Chippewa County you may contact the Community Health Access Coalition (CHAC) for assistance 906-635-7483.
