Title: Registrar
Function and Responsibility
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Services, the Registrar is responsible for the planning, oversight, and management of all student academic records and for the administration of all services and operations in the Registrar’s Office. The Registrar is a member of the Enrollment Services team and works collaboratively and strategically with departments within the division including Admissions, Financial Aid, and Advising, Retention, Orientation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for management, integrity and security of all student academic records.

Administer and interpret policies and practices to students, parents, faculty, staff and other constituencies. Promote effective communication and positive relationships with faculty, deans, chairs, and other members of the University community. Provide information, solutions, and training as needed.

Oversee all functions in the Registrar’s Office (ie. processing grades, probation/dismissal, dean’s list, completion of official degree audits, CAPP, compilation of graduation information, creation of semester course schedule, course classroom placement, room reservations, all registration functions, final exam schedule, Clearinghouse transmissions, Catalog of Courses in Banner, University Catalog, NCAA academic compliance, VA certification, enrollment/degree verifications, transcript requests, etc.).

Manage department budget for Registrar’s Office. Supervise and evaluate Registrar staff.

Lead for Student Module in Banner, LSSU’s administrative software system. Work with IT to test patches and upgrades for the system as needed.

Responsible for maintaining and updating the security template for the Banner Student Module and determine security access for all LSSU employees requesting access to the Student system.

Responsible for oversight of the Registrar, Scheduling and VA Webpages. Responsible for the Student and Faculty Services Tabs in Anchor Access (Self Service).

Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for SEVIS. Overall responsibility to ensure LSSU international (F-1 status) students remain in compliance with federal government regulations.

Be knowledgeable of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) regulations and ensure the campus is in compliance. Provide documentation and training.

Ex-officio member of Curriculum Committee and General Education Committee.

Participate in various adhoc committees.

Continually assess student satisfaction in the Registrar’s Office. Make recommendations and changes as needed to provide outstanding service to students. Continually look for ways to improve LSSU functions and efficiencies.
Bachelor’s degree in Administration, education administration or other related field. Experience in an institution of higher education with proven ability to work effectively with faculty and staff at all levels of the university as well as with students. A high degree of understanding and use of technology and the ability to apply it to the needs of the University faculty and staff is required. Extensive database experience with Banner, LSSU’s administrative software system is preferred. Other requirements include excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.
Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to be able to sit and concentrate for long periods of time; use of gross motor skills to perform supervisory and organizational duties; use of fine motor skills to operate computer; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks.
