Title: Director of Testing Services
Function and Responsibility
Under the administrative direction of the Dean of Academic Services responsible for all aspects of administering university testing services and contracts both on and off campus that do not require an LPC., including hiring and evaluating needed personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating and administering all academic assessment and course placement programs at Lake Superior State University.
• Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating all staff needed to administer the National Testing Programs of: ACT, GRE, MCAT, DANB, MTTC, LSAT, PCAT and NCEES and other tests as needed.
• Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating staff needed to assist in fulfilling the Michigan Department of Civil Service contract, Precision Edge Surgical LLC contract or other similar contracts that develop.
• Consult with the Disabilities Coordinator for students who need test accommodations and direct staff on implementation of accommodations.
• Responsible for staffing, coordinating and billing the Testing Services supplied to the Sault Ste. Marie Intermediate School District for Work Keys and Praxis Testing or similar services provided to the public.
• Responsible for all aspects of migrating to computer-based placement testing using COMPASS and working closely with academic areas on campus for input and coordination in this ongoing process.
• Responsible for promoting and expanding Testing Services to constituents on and off campus.
• Responsible for hiring and evaluating all staff positions and students associated with running this university service.
• Responsible for the Testing Institute and Academic Services Accounts
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. Three years experience administering, scoring and maintaining test result records. Tests and measurements experience needed. Knowledge of standardized assessment testing required. Ability to interpret statistical/analytical reports and data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups on and off campus. Ability to work independently given general supervision. Good working knowledge of computer software programs (i.e., spreadsheet programs, data base systems, etc).

Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to be able to participate in and assist with set-up, takedown, and facilitation of student activities and events. Ability to use gross motor skills to perform supervisory and organizational duties. Use of fine motor skills to operate computer; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to represent the University in public and promotional appearances, and mental capacity to assist with numerous administrative responsibilities.
