Function and Responsibility
Under the supervision of the President provides accurate knowledge, data and information for required reports, outcome measures, accreditation issues, grants and contracts, etc. Assures accurate data is always provided.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as data consultant and resource person with senior administration and with faculty and staff (and, as appropriate, students); responsible for coordinating requests for institutional data from external and internal sources; respond to routine requests for data from faculty, staff and students as well as external agencies, other institutions and the community.

Helps develop and then maintains accurately and currently electronic dashboards showing institutional progress of key performance indicators against set goals.

Represents the University in committees concerned with institutional information, data, outcome measures, etc.

Responsible for developing data bases and utilizing analytical tools comparing LSSU’s institutional data with that from other state and national peer institutions.

Responsible for maintaining catalog of institutional data element definitions including location of data.

Provide assistance in the preparation, production, and distribution of institutional reports to academic and administrative departments.

Responsible for web site management and technical support as it relates to data; oversees and/or develops web pages and uploads for institutional data.

Participates in professional development through memberships in appropriate state, regional and national organizations.

Perform related duties as assigned.
At least a bachelor’s degree in a field utilizing computational skills. Minimum five years experience in higher education as well as two years experience using complex computer software appropriate for institutional research. Ability to work independently, exercising good judgment and decision making skills; performs mathematical computations and statistical analysis; researches and analyzes data and independently resolves discrepancies; prepare a variety of financial and statistical reports in the required format; work well under pressure. Good interpersonal skills to work with people throughout the institution and people from outside the institution.
Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to maintain long hours and busy schedule; use of gross motor skills to perform supervisory and organizational duties; use of fine motor skills in operation of keyboard equipment to produce reports; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks; mental capacity to assist with numerous administrative responsibilities; ability to work with numbers.
