Title: Administrative Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities
Act as a DSO for LSSU’s International Students. Each semester, assist with the registration of all international students into the SEVIS online system. Monitor current international students’ status to maintain SEVIS compliance. Collect and verify required financial information received from international students. Complete I-20’s as needed for international students.

VA Certifying Official. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of VA processes. Will collect necessary information from students, verify student satisfactory academic progress toward degree completion, answer questions, and complete semester certifications into the VAONCE system.

Process transfer credit evaluations for current students. Provide information and answer questions regarding transfer credit and evaluations.

Create and verify transfer articulations in the Banner system, update as appropriate.

Creation and maintenance of Semester Final Exam Schedule.

Supervision, training, and scheduling of student staff.

Perform Registration functions. Provide training and help to students with registration problems.

Dual/Concurrent Enrollment, Sault College Dual Enrollment, and Charter School Enrollment – Act as main contact for schools, organize, process and maintain statistics on students involved with these programs.

Orientation Registration paperwork – Using Population Selection and Mail Merge, create and distribute registration forms for all students registering for and attending our various student orientation programs.

Cashiering - Process tuition payments, Perkins and Nursing loans, short term loans, departmental deposits, cash checks, and enter monies directly into the Banner Finance system. Daily cash reconciliation required.

Be knowledgeable about Anchor Access, Registrar’s Website, Bill and Payment Suite, LSSU policies regarding the Registrar’s Office, FERPA, general accounts receivable rules, financial aid, etc.

Parking – Be knowledgeable about Bosscars, LSSU’s Parking system. Process parking passes, parking tickets, query information for students and answer questions regarding parking.

Read and respond appropriately to all emails from the Registrar’s Office Email account.

Process variety of enrollment verification forms and answer questions relating to enrollment and degrees.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Associate’s degree in Office Administration, or related field. Experience in an institution of higher education preferred with proven ability to work effectively with faculty and staff at all levels of the University as well as with students. Excellent computer skills, minimum keyboard speed of 60 words per minute. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point required. Familiarity with the software system Banner preferred.

Experience with cashiering and basic bookkeeping preferred. Ability to work in fast paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service skills required. Organizational skills with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy are also required.

Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to be able to sit and concentrate for long periods of time; use of fine motor skills to operate computer; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks.
