Title: Field Placement/Certification Director
Function and Responsibility
Under the direction of the Associate Dean School of Education.

Duties and Responsibilities
Place undergraduate students in field experiences; place fifth year interns in K-12 schools in Michigan and Ontario.

Participate in mediation of teacher-intern disputes.

Organize, collect, maintain and report data from graduate follow-up studies.

Establish and maintain close relations with K-12 school administrators/staff in Michigan and Ontario.

Attend department meetings.

Recommend revisions to field experience programs; work with faculty in program development.

Teach up to 11 credit hours per academic year.

Oversee the teacher education certification.

Edit and proof all department publications.

Hold internship seminars at off-campus and on-campus locations.

Assist with recruitment of students/orientation.

Assist with program evaluations & development.

Perform related duties as assigned.
Master's degree in education or closely related field and teaching experience are required, as is demonstrated ability to work consensually with colleagues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must possess a valid operator's license, have a satisfactory driving record and be able to travel extensively.

Adequate health and fitness to be able to maintain a busy schedule; use of gross motor skills to perform organizational duties; use of fine motor skills to operate keyboard equipment; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks and represent the University in promotional and recruiting activities.
