Function and Responsibility
Under the administrative direction of the Vice President for Student Programs and Services, responsible for directing and supervising the activities of the University’s Health Center.
Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Vice President for Student Programs and Services and the Department Chair of Nursing/Grant Project Director, responsible for interviewing and hiring job applicants for the Center; sets work schedules and oversees the training of personnel working in the Health Center; conducts periodic staff meetings.

Conducts ongoing performance evaluations of non-clinical personnel; assures performance evaluations of clinical personnel are completed by Nurse Practitioner.

Recommends and implements programs, procedures and policies for the Health Center; conducts ongoing evaluation programs to meet university and community care needs; develops and implements employee wellness programs.

Coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of an ongoing marketing plan for the Center; represents the Center to the community and campus through public education and promotional activities; expands nursing center client base maximizing income potential and growth opportunities.

Actively seeks grant funding for Center operations and administers grants as assigned.

Assures professional and clinic licenses and certificates are up to date and policies, procedures and related documents are current.

Develops and implements a business plan for the Center; demonstrates fiscal responsibility; complies with financial reporting systems of the University, fiscal intermediaries, and funding agencies.

Assures quality of services rendered in the Center through active communication with collaborating physicians and review of chart audits and cases; completion of chart audits, cost analysis, client satisfaction, health status data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Collaborates with professional staff and nursing faculty to coordinate student clinical experiences in the Center; actively supports and expands nursing center activities and programs in individual and collective collaboration with nursing faculty; seeks opportunities and supports nursing faculty practice and research in the Center; and coordinates health promotion activities with Norris Center and Nursing Department staff.

Implements computerized information systems in the Center.

Responsible for managing and evaluating contracts with vendors, physicians, and other contracted services.

Evaluates the operations of the Center quarterly and prepares quarterly and annual reports.

Calls semi-annual meeting of the Advisory Committee in collaboration with Department of Nursing Chair/Grant Project Director and committee chairperson; seeks feedback and presents report of activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in Health Care or Business Administration. Health care center or hospital administrative experience preferred; good verbal and written communication skills; planning competency, financial management, computer systems and familiarity with health care computer software required.
Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to be able to sit and concentrate for long periods of time; use of fine motor skills to operate computer; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, and speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks.
