Title: Banner Project Manager
 
Function and Responsibility
Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, responsible for the overall management of the University administrative system migration to the SunGard SCT Banner system including, project management, leadership, needs assessment, staff scheduling, project budget management, integration services (SCT) and developing strong relationships with the various campus business process owners to ensure the success of the Banner implementation.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
The desired candidate will be a proven and accomplished individual with excellent leadership and strategic management skills who can work with a variety of academic and administrative staff in a diverse environment. Leadership responsibilities include management of strategic plans and tactical activities to ensure end-user satisfaction, service delivery, contract compliance, resource management and business development.
• Coordinate conversion planning, test plan development, fit-gap analysis and conflict resolution
• Strong functional knowledge of SCT Plus! system modules
o Understanding of SCT Banner system modules
• Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership and direction for the implementation process.
• Ability to provide the highest levels of interpersonal communications with sensitivity to understanding the demands of a higher education environment, including the ability to clearly communicate project status and provide leadership to the implementation team.
• Identifies user needs, resolves problems and directs building of teams to work across all levels of the University.
• Recommends and/or identifies the institutions long-term academic and administrative needs and proposes solutions to accomplish the institutions business objectives and goals.
• Maintains regular contact with the Banner Steering Committee, Project Team, Works Teams and SCT project manager. Provide project updates to be posted on the Banner website.
• Manage Project Budget, including expenses for SCT implementation services.
• Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
• Responsible for the successful implementation of the Banner system
 
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or University. 5 years experience in higher education. Willingness to accept additional hours as required during the project implementation.

Desirable:
Previous Banner experience
Previous Project Management experience
Experience with Microsoft ™ Project or similar project tracking software
 
Physical and Mental Demands
Adequate physical fitness to be able to sit and concentrate for long periods of time; use gross motor skills to perform organizational duties; use of fine motor skills to operate computer; problem solving ability; ability to understand and work with numbers; ability to see, hear, speak with or without the use of aids to perform normal office tasks. Full use of arms, hands, legs and feet as required for completion of assigned tasks.
