Calendar: Now you get a calendar for yourself, and you can share calendars with your friends or subscribe to public calendars to stay on top of events on campus.
Docs: Create and share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations online, and download them to your favorite desktop applications. Great for collaborative projects, in and out of class.
Sites: Online website and creation tools that offer real-time sharing and editing as well as worry-free compatibility. It’s as easy as editing a document, which means there's no markup language for you to learn. Create a site for yourself or your student organization.
Talk: IM with friends and classmates, or make free voice calls to anyone else with Google Talk, anywhere in the world.
Mobile: Mobile applications allow you to view your e-mail on smartphones, as well as many popular cell phones.

Once your gmail account is created here are the steps to take..
Starting out with Gmail
After your account has been migrated to the new e-mail system (Gmail) you’ll need to do some simple configuration before you can begin using it. Follow the steps below to complete the procedure.
Using a web browser, navigate to http://my.lssu.edu and log into your account.

Click on “LSSU GMAIL” found beneath your e-mail inbox on the main page. Indicated above in red.

Enter your username and password to log in to Gmail. The username will be the same as it is for my.lssu. The password will be given to you by your secretary . You will change this password on the next screen. Click “Sign In” to continue.

You will need to choose a new password to access Gmail. You may select a language or leave it as the default “English (US)”. Type the characters as shown in the image into the next field. The terms of service are displayed below that for you to review if you wish. When finished, click “I accept. Create my account”.

You will see a screen similar to the one displayed above. This is your Gmail inbox. Configuration is complete and it is ready to use.
