Johnson Controls
Johnson Controls and Lake Superior State University entered into a partnership, in conjunction with the EPA, to develop an ENERGY STAR BuildingsTM program for Lake Superior State University. In order to develop a comprehensive porgram, a team was formed with the University and Johnson Controls staff. The team developed co-authored solutions that address facility improvements, financial benefits, and attracting and retaining students on campus. From these co-authored solutions a detailed study of all facilities was conducted.

Energy Star Program
This program is a voluntary partnership between organizations and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to promote efficiency in buildings. It consists of a five-step, seven-year process to reduce energy consumption, improve the efficiency of the facility and receive recognition for achivements on a local, regional and national level.
