Geoff Girolamo works as a paramedic for Kinross EMS, Kinross, Mich. During holidays and school breaks he works in the Detroit metro area for Medic One Ambulance and Hart Medical EMS as a paramedic for both agencies.
"I want to graduate and work in a Level 1 Trauma Center in the ER and in the ICU, rotating between various types of intensive care units. After getting experience in both types of units, then I would like to work as a travel nurse and experience many types of hospitals in many different settings. Meanwhile I want continue my work in EMS, both for the experience and to keep my skills current.
"Long-term, I want to work as a flight nurse, specifically in a rotor wing. This would be the perfect blend of EMS and critical care medicine. At some point I may consider graduate school to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), depending upon my desire/ability to go back to school and how satisfied I am with my current job/career path at the time."
