CAS 306 – APR 14, 2009

Meeting started at 15:04pm

  • Donuts

    • Crew

      • Rob - officer - 7:00am till 8:00am

      • Brett - Pickup Donuts - 7:30am till 9:00am

      • Dereck & Jake - 9:00am till 10:00am

      • Jo, Amanda - 10:00am till 11:00am

    • This week sold all but three donuts AWESOME!

  • Pizza Sales

    • Tuesday @ Noon

    • 8 slices of cheese left after buying 3 pizzas,

      • The meeting was delicious

    • Lets get one cheese, one pepperoni and one mushroom

    • Jo will call and pick it up.

  • Mars Rover

    • time's running out, competition this weekend

    • but lookin' good

    • Stickers: LSSU IEEE, Glens Market,

  • West Pier dinner -

    • Thursday 5:30 ish – meet in the IEEE office.

  • Sword – Says broken, but it really does

    • Not really broken

    • Set for butterfingers and snickers

    • Just needs to be reprogrammed for 75 cents [Skylar to teach Jo]

  • Dean's Council - Soliciting businesses for the Engineering banquet

    • Keepin' the fridge full, it's full time job please keep and eye on the stock and let Dereck or Amanda know when we are running low and need to go get stuff.

  • FIRST Robotics

    • Got our check to pay for the travel fees and rooms for Traverse City

    • Troy competition is this weekend

  • LAN Party

    • Postponed to later date for Tournament

  • SAE would like to rent the coffee cart

    • $2.00 per machine per day

  • Polo design decision postponed for next week.

Meeting started at 15:05

    • Lets get one half cheese/ half mushroom, one pep and one mushroom/pep again

    • Skylar has a picture of the original circuit but a capacitor was accidentally removed when reprogramming with Jo.

    • Got Second place @ Troy and qualified for the State Campionship

    • Fund-raising madness, raised over 2500$ from local businesses and $1500 from LSSU Engineering Dept.

    • TONS OF FUN!!!!

  • Mars rover

    • BaneBots transmission was not producing spec torque

    • new transmissions were found to make the rover move with plenty of power

    • 14$ a piece, order 4. two for the rover, two for spare for other projects. About 60$ total

    • function at last. :)

  • Polo design

    • simple IEEE logo with “LSSU IEEE” below it

     

  • Windmill Project

    • Vertical Axis – non-derious

    • active control of the blades to maximize power output

    • grants available for future research after initial project

    • prototype made of balsa

  • Swarm bots

    • talked about them a little. Deffently want to work on them in the summer

CAS 306 – Mar 17, 2009

Meeting starts at 15:07pm

  • Donuts

    • Crew Selection

      • Coffee 7:00 - Rob

      • Pickup 7:30 - Brett

      • Come if you can to hang out for IEEE donut sales.

  • Pizza Sales

    • Sold all three pizzas today before 12:05

    • Jo will pick up pizza next week

    • Come if you can to hang out for IEEE Pizza sales.

  • West Pier is open now; Skylar sucks....

  • Mars Rover

    • Learned a lot, but a lot left to do

    • Dereck was OK'ed to use end mill and press for working the Lexan body

    • This weekend we will get together to work on it, Possibly move to Dereck's house to use shop equipment. First person to get to campus should rally everyone else.

  • Engineering Banquet “meeting” Thursday!

    • Fun times

    • Bio won the big door prize, a trip over the international bridge arches

      • Dereck invites himself as one of the 3 guests :)

    • Jo was recognized by the IEEE Executives for all his hard work for IEEE.

    • Jake Weinmann, Zack Spurr, and Dereck Wonnacott were recognized for participation in FIRST

  • Sword

    • Jo has been working to add Buterfingers to the 'bot

    • Price was increased to 75 cents. We lose money at 50 cents. The vending machines are at 85 cents.

  • Engineering Day

    • It was fun.

  • FIRST Robotics

    • Meeting this Saturday, regular time.

    • Troy district even is the 27th of March

  • Capitan Planet, he's your hero, gonna take pollution down to zero.

    • Tournament this semester?

    • tabled until more info is provided to us.

    • Call for designs for the next meeting

    • Grant to get us a price for the polo. [Grant]

  • Treasury Report

    • Total of $1095.94 in our account.

    • Need to take care before making charges on the debit card to avoid overdrafts.

  • A real set of student bylaws are required for the LSSU IEEE Student Chapter

    • please think about this and we should try to have this in place by the end of the semester

    • A recommendation is that Presidents of IEEE me Engineering Majors. This should be enacted as part of the full bylaws to be written.

  • Swarm bots

    • To be focused on more after mars rover is completed

  • West Peir @ 5:00 for food on Thursday.

  • Think of some reason for the lack of participation in IEEE this semester

    • define membership in the new bylaws

    • multiple projects to bring variety

    • this semester is very busy.

    • Work conflicts
