Alum Success

Dan Goodrich

“I chose LSSU expecting a very good engineering education. What I didn’t expect was faculty with real-world engineering experience and abilities, labs with real-world equipment, projects with real-world outcomes, and an entire campus staff with real interest in my success, as a student and yet today. My LSSU engineering education has created or supported every desired career opportunity. LSSU was absolutely the right place for me.”

Activities on and off Campus:

  • Work part-time at Glens
  • Volleyball
  • Soccer
  • Tennis

Favorite thing about Lake State:
I love the small campus and how much the community is involved with the school. I also love the personal attention from the professors.

Best thing about going to school in Sault Ste. Marie:
The best thing about going to school in Sault Ste. Marie is the fact that there is a small-town atmosphere on the State's side and big-city life on the Ontario side. It's the best of both worlds.

What are some “Words of Wisdom” you would give to new LSSU students?
Get out and participate in activities on campus. It's a great way to meet new friends. If you are in your room, leave your door open so people can stop by and say hi!
