Academics

You will have an opportunity to speak with academic representative, register for classes and ask questions. There will be important discussions on academic policies and procedures to help ensure your success at LSSU.

Representatives will be available for one-on-one consultations.

Placement Testing

Placement in English and mathematics courses is determined by a student’s highest ACT/SAT scores. If you feel that your scores do not reflect your true preparation in these content areas, you may challenge your scores by taking challenge (COMPASS) exams.

Students wanting to challenge their course placement can register for the exams by contacting Testing Services at 906-635-2027.

Note: Students who do not have transfer credit for english and mathematics or do not have ACT/SAT scores are required to take the (COMPASS) placement exams.

Student ID

You will have your picture taken and receive your Laker ID card. You can customize your ID by selecting from among 10 images of campus, sports or degree programs.
