POLICY:
The Continuing Education Office may offer credit courses on or off-campus.
These courses are offered primarily for non-traditional part-time or full-time
students who are unable to complete course work within the normal schedule
offered by academic departments. This procedure defines responsibility for
processing registrations when courses do not coincide with the normal semester
beginning and ending dates.
In addition to courses which are open to members of the general public, the
Continuing Education Office may contract with any individual, business or with
any public or private agency to provide credit courses either exclusively for
its constituents, or may allocate any number of spaces for such contractual
arrangements and may make other spaces available for enrollment by members
of the general public.
The Continuing Education Office, in consultation with the directors of the
responsible units, will:
- Determine beginning and end dates of the course(s).
- Determine the semester in which the course will be officially scheduled.
- Set dates for refunds, based on existing university procedures.
- Set deadline for dropping with an N grade.
- Collect tuition and fees when appropriate and issue receipts to students
for Continuing Education courses. Deposit payments to the Business Office.
Deposit money for textbook sales to the Campus Shoppe.
- Obtain and process fee statements with student payments through the cashier
as received.
- Authorize drops, based on pre-established refund and drop with N grade
deadline and submit to Registrar's office.
- Notify registrar of actual course dates and average contact hours per week
for purposes of certification for recipients of veterans' and other benefits.
