POLICY:
Academic Regalia is an important part of the university culture, history and
tradition. Regalia is worn at a variety of university events including commencement
exercises, new student convocation, academic awards ceremony, and building
dedications. In order to assist faculty members to participate in these important
events the university established the Academic Regalia Purchase Program (ARPP).
This program provides faculty/staff a payroll-deduction option for the repayment
of the cost of academic regalia.
Procedure:
- Faculty/Staff must apply during the open-enrollment period for the ARPP
(typically the first two weeks of each semester - not including summer).
- The ARPP may only be used for academic regalia purchased while the faculty/staff
member is an employee of the university.
- Following approval of the application by the Provost, academic regalia
may be purchased through the Campus Shoppe with billing to the business office.
A copy of the signed application form serves as authorization for internal
billing from the Campus Shoppe.
- The Campus Shoppe will provide a copy of the academic regalia purchase
receipt to the business office.
- The entire cost of the academic regalia must be repaid to the university
by the end of one payroll year through a payroll deduction plan. (Cost to
be distributed across 20 or 26 pay periods to correspond with the payroll
period selected by the faculty member).
- If the faculty/staff member terminates employment with the university before
the completing the ARPP repayment through payroll deduction, the balance
is due in full on or before the termination date.
