POLICY:

Employees of Lake Superior State University are employed at will unless the at-will status is modified by a written contract entered into between the Board of Trustees or President and the employee or a certified union that represents the employee.  At-will employees may be terminated at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without prior notice.  The employment of an employee represented by a certified union shall be governed by the terms of the contract agreed to by the Board of Trustees and the union. No officer (other than the President), administrator, employee or other representative of Lake Superior State University has the authority to enter into an agreement that provides for any definite term of employment, or that alters the at-will employment relationship in any way.  The at-will nature of employment may be changed only by the terms of a written agreement signed and duly approved by the Board of Trustees or by the University’s President.
