Small Class Sizes are Important!
Russell D. Bruce Recreation Department Scholarship
This scholarship honors Dr. Russell D. Bruce, the first department head of recreation disciplines at LSSU. Awarded to a recreation or exercise science major at the end of their junior year, selection is based on academics, leadership, and service contribution to the Recreation Club or Exercise Science Professional Club.
"The Athletic Training Program (ATEP) at Lake State is great! The small class sizes allow the instructors and supervising ATC’s to provide one on one feedback to students on a regular basis; athletic training students get more out of their time and experiences while in the athletic training room and other clinical sites. Students not only spend time in the athletic training room, but also spend time in an orthopedic surgeon’s office, a physical therapy setting, the campus health care center, and various sport assignments. The instructors in the ATEP are always willing to help students out of class."
