Alum Success

"It seems like the more people I talk to, the more I realize just how good of an engineering program LSSU has. I appreciate your classes, your ability to make learning an enjoyable experience, and the hands-on attitude of LSSU as a whole. I am very glad I chose LSSU."

"I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to teach electrical engineering in the classroom and also do consulting in the area of support for the development of hybrid and electric vehicles.  It is great to see the engineering principles and techniques from the classroom chalk board in use in the real world, and to bring examples from industry back to my classes.

I really value the culture in the engineering area at Lake State, and feel that is best described by thought a student once expressed in a class journal: 'Class was more like a huge family than a regular class.' "

"Federal grants through the aquatic research lab let me work on an assessment of lake sturgeon in the St. Mary’s River," he says. "I've been tracking adult sturgeon by radio telemetry in hopes of identifying their spawning areas." Besides his sturgeon hydrophone telemetry work at LSSU, Brandon has studied adult Atlantic salmon, radio-tracked an elk herd in Canada, and banded migrating owls at Whitefish Point. [ more ]
