Lake Superior State University student Kerri Collins accepts the Tendercare Endowment from LSSU past President Rodney Lowman, left, and Steven Merrill, LSSU's Dean of Nursing. Presentation was made during the annual War Memorial Hospital Banquet held at Lake Superior State. This endowment was established in 1994 with a bequest from a client of an Indiana-affiliated facility to Tendercare (Michigan) Inc., Michigan’s largest long-term care provider. The gift was donated to LSSU to go to students who major in a health care field. Recipients must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and have completed 26 or more LSSU credits. Collins is a junior from Watton, Mich. Not pictured is co-recipient Meishela Huddle, a junior from Sidney, Mich.
Lake Superior State University Dean of Nursing Steve Merrill presents Licensed Practical Nursing Graduate Michelle Savoie of Pickford with the first I-500 Parking Committee Scholarship Award during pinning ceremonies last August. The fund is available to Eastern Upper Peninsula nursing students who are in their third semester of LSSU’s LPN program.
