Sport and Recreation Management attended the
Northern
Michigan Recreation and Parks Association (NMRPA) workshop on risk management at the
Ralph MacMullen Center in Grayling November
2007. Two alums, Erica Cena Mattson 05’
(Parks and Recreation Director for St. Ignace)
and Justin Andre 01’ (Hanson Hills Recreation
Authority Director - see Alum Success story at left) joined the group. NMRPA will
focus on coordinating professionals in Northern
Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. |

"As a child my favorite classes were physical education and art. I chose to start my education at a local community college and once I received my associates degree I still wanted to pursue my education and play tennis. Lake State offered the Sports and Recreation Management major in which my interest in sports is complemented with the opportunity to expand my creative side as well. Here I am the student I envisioned, preparing to be the professional I want to be."
